Every good covert hypnosis manual will teach you how to apply covert hypnosis within just about any interpersonal setting. It should teach you how to use hypnosis in interpersonal settings discreetly, and effectively. Also it should cover the many things that can go wrong with covert hypnosis, and how to overcome these things in just about any conversation.
One of the main problems with covert hypnosis is that its effectiveness can vary considerably from person to person, let me give you an example.
Once upon a time when I was just first starting to learn and practice covert hypnosis, I went into a bar and attempted the techniques I had learned on a member of the opposite sex. I started by matching and mirroring the person's body language, maintaining a hypnotic tonality, and establishing a deep form of rapport with the person.
Once that rapport was established, I then started to discreetly plant my suggestions within the person's subconscious, hoping that they'd soon act upon my suggestions. When they didn't, I was wondering what I had did wrong, and why my techniques weren't working.
Looking back now, I can see that I wasn't testing to see the responses of the person. I wasn't testing to see whether or not they were responding to my suggestions, instead I was just running off a script I had learned without ensuring that the script was actually working on the person.
The covert hypnosis manual that I had used to teach me the techniques I was using told me everything about matching and mirroring a person's body language, everything about establishing rapport, and everything about running a script with a person, however it taught me nothing about testing whether or not the script was working.
It's then that I realised that a lot of what I had worked seemed good enough in theory, however in the practical world had little use. That's when I seriously begun my studies of covert hypnosis over a period of many years, and mastered and perfected the various techniques within it, so that I could approach that same setting in the bar, many times over, and have success rather than failure.
So if you're looking for a good covert hypnosis manual, remember that the most important thing to look for are techniques that will work in real life interpersonal settings, and not just in theory.
