Finding a good covert hypnosis manual operator can be difficult, given the number of manual operators that are out there. A typical covert hypnosis manual will have an index with a certain number of common terms and techniques that you can memorise and apply to real life settings. It will also contain a number of ways that you can use covert hypnosis without people being consciously aware you're doing so.
What a lot of these manuals won't contain however are the common mistakes that many beginning hypnotists make when attempting to apply covert hypnosis for the first time. A lot of these manuals will assume some sort of experience in hypnosis, experience which the read all too often may not have.
That is why it's important to find a covert hypnosis manual operator that explains the techniques necessary in order to apply covert hypnosis in a way that anyone can understand. You want to find a manual operator that lists in detail each step of the covert hypnosis process, from the induction into trance right through the action of suggestion.
Let me share a little story with you. When I was just starting to learn hypnosis, I was trying to convince this salesman to give me a fifty percent discount on this VHS player. Now of course the salesman had no intention of giving me the discount, and he was of the belief that the VHS player was already cheap enough as it was, at the full price.
So I tried as hard as I could to try and subtly suggest to the salesman that the piece of equipment was in fact not worth its full value, and that he really ought to give me a fifty percent discount. Despite how hard I persisted, I was just unable to plant the suggestion within this salesman to give me that discount.
Looking back now, I can see why I failed to plant that suggestion. You see, I never identified with what the salesman wanted, nor with what he was saying. I was taking a form of resistance, I was distancing myself from him by not agreeing with him that the VHS player was worth its full value.
What I should have said to the salesman was that yes, the product he was trying to sell me was indeed worth its full value, and that he should not give me any discount on it. By doing this I would have established rapport with the salesman, and dispelled his subconscious fears that I was trying to obtain a discount from him.
After I had done this, I could have easily have planted the covert suggestion within him so that he would give me a discount.
This is a crucial lesson that your ordinary covert hypnosis manual operator will not teach you. You must identify with what a person's fears are, dispel them, and agree with what the person is saying to maintain rapport, even if it goes against what your suggestion may be. In time, the person will forget the fact you agreed with them, however rapport will exist, creating the perfect environment for you to plant your suggestion.
